A lifelong resident of the Capital Region, Ian has been with WAMC/Northeast Public Radio since late 2008 and became news director in 2013. His reporting and interviews are broadcast in parts of seven states and via podcast.

A freelance sports reporter for the Associated Press since 2004, Ian’s sports journalism has also appeared in The Saratogian and the Troy Record. His radio reporting has aired on NPR.

He holds a BA in English and journalism and an MA in English, both from the University at Albany, where he has taught journalism since 2013.
